Will they still feel soft after months of washing?
That comes down to how they are washed. Fabric softener and dryer sheets coat cotton loops. It feels nice for a week, then the towel turns stiff and starts pushing water around instead of soaking it up. Wash warm, skip the softener, add half a cup of white vinegar to the rinse now and then, and tumble dry low. Cared for like that, 100% cotton terry stays soft.
Will they leave fuzz all over me?
Any new cotton terry lets go of some loose fibers at first. Wash your set before the first use, on its own with no fabric softener, and give it two or three washes. Most of the shedding is gone after that. Patting dry instead of rubbing helps in the first week too.
Do thick towels end up smelling musty?
A musty smell comes from a towel that stays damp. Hang yours spread open, not folded over a hook, and wash it every three or four uses. If a towel ever smells off, run it hot with a cup of white vinegar and no detergent, then wash it again as normal.
What does 600 GSM mean?
GSM is grams per square meter, the weight of the fabric. Light, quick dry towels sit around 300 to 400 and heavy spa towels go up to 900. At 600, these are thick and plush in the hand, with plenty of looped cotton to soak up water, but lighter than the heaviest spa towels, which take the longest to dry.
